Should I keep or sell my Land Rover Freelander 2?

I have a 2010 Freelander 2 which has done 60,000 miles.I have just spent £800 to have the rear diff repaired. Now I have to spend a further £700 for a new Haldex pump. The word service keeps displaying when I start the car, although it had its annual service in the summer. The garage has reset it but it's still showing. I'm just wondering whether its time to buy a new car, which is a shame as I have had mine from new and still like it but if its starting to cost me money maybe its time to sell. What do you think?

A 16-year-old car that has only covered 60,000 miles has the potential to go on for many more years, particularly as you have owned it since new, but at the same time having a series of large bills may make it uneconomical to keep. If the service light continues to appear it would suggest that either the reset procedure has not been carried out correctly or there is some element of the service requirement that has not been completed. We would suggest taking your car to a Land Rover specialist, who will likely have the correct OBD tool to reset the service light correctly, but can also offer some guidance on the general condition of the car which may help you decide whether to keep it or move it on.
