What reliable small car for £3000 do you suggest?

I'm a single person who does low mileages around 5000 miles a year. I'm after a reliable and low maintenance car for up to £3000. What should I buy?

A Volkswagen Up, Skoda Citigo or Seat Mii (they're all the same car aside from branding and light styling differences) would work well. If you're after something slightly larger, we'd recommend a Toyota Yaris. The 2005-on second-generation version is easily doable on your budget, and you might just manage the 2013-on third-generation model if you're happy to search over a wider area.
