Why does the rear windscreen wiper on my car come on every time I start the engine?

I have a Skoda Fabia SE TDI 2013. Every time I turn on the engine the back windscreen wiper comes on for two wipes then stops?

This may seem like a daft question, but do you reverse into a space and then leave the car in gear when parked? In many models with rain sensors, if the car is in reverse and the sensor is faulty, it will go as if to clear the screen. Does your car have any other electrical faults that are undiagnosed?
