Should I use a fuel additive in my car?
I have a 2004 Mercedes R230 SL500. Is there a recommended fuel additive to use to keep the system clean and running perfectly?

There is little in the way of independent research that demonstrates the effectiveness of engine additives, while anecdotally some car owners swear by them and others say they have no effect. Fuel additives are no substitute for regular servicing and maintenance which have a far greater effect on an engine's performance and reliability. You may wish to consider using premium fuel which also contains cleaning additives, and as you have a high performance engine you may benefit from a slight increase in power due to the higher octane rating, although again there is no truly independent evidence to vouch for the effectiveness of the cleaning additives.

Looks good and make you look rich. 2006 models with increased power vastly better cars. 388hp 500SL plenty fast enough and makes a nice noise.
