Are there any petrol cars that are £20 to tax?
With all the car tax increases I am just checking what are the cheapest petrol cars on the road as of 1st April 2025. Are there any vehicles that are zero tax or only £20 tax?

You can read more about VED rates from April 2025 here - www.honestjohn.co.uk/car-tax/ - but as before, rates for cars registered between 2001 and 2017 are still based on CO2 emissions, so cars that were eligible for zero rate or low rates are still the cheapest. Band A cars will pay £20 from April 2025 instead of zero, while Band B and Band C cars will remain at £20 per year and £35 a year respectively. You can read our guide to low tax cars here - www.honestjohn.co.uk/guides/cars-with-zero-road-ta.../ which includes pre-2017 versions of the Volkswagen Golf, Ford Fiesta, Nissan Qashqai, Toyota Aygo and BMW 3 Series.
