More parking penalties

On 13/07/2011 I parked in an almost empty retail park carpark at 19:12 hours while attending a nearby theatre, returning at 23:02 hours.

Unknown to me parking restictions had been recently introduced limiting parking to 3 hours. I have now received a demand from Parking Eye for £80.00 to be paid by 16/08/2011. I understand from previous correspondence in your column that they have no power to enforce these charges. Can you please advise appropriate action.

Also, my identity was provided to Parking Eye by the DVLA. Can you advise if any offence has been commited by them under the Data Protection Act?

Don't pay, challenge them to take you to court for your alleged breach of contract where you will contest that the penalty imposed is wholly unreasonble.
