What's the best SUV for seniors?
Currently driving a Honda HRV and after 10,000 miles very satisfied with its performance to date, in both comfort and economy (55-57 mpg) My only fly in the ointment is the satnav which is a white, grey and occasionally green, abomination. Roads disappear once you increase the size of the area covered, so it looks as though you are travelling through a field. Better in a built up area, but not much use if you live in the country. The satnav only previous vehicle, a Peugeot 2008, was far superior.
Have not yet taken any steps to check out the latest Honda SUV hybrid, but looking online there is a confusing mix of recommendations for alternatives. In our seventies, doing a mixture of mainly local and occasional longer journeys, about 8-10,000 miles per year. Comfort over performance; economy with some style. Any other vehicles you recommend that we should be looking with an upper price limit of £35-40,000

You can read our guide to the best SUVs here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/guides/best-suv/ Depending on the size of SUV you need, we would suggest looking at the Ford Puma, Skoda Kodiaq or Volvo XC40.
As for your Honda, you may be able to change the colour scheme of the infotainment system by switching it permanently to 'night' mode which may make it easier to read. All sat nav systems reduce the amount of detail shown as you increase the scale of the map to avoid it becoming unintelligible, so it may be a case of adjusting the scale to get the balance right for your needs.
