Unfair fuel consumption figures

Bought the car new in December 2009. It has always only averaged 25mpg and several other road tests show the same. Have had a go at BMW but no joy. Have tried OFT to get this gross misrepresentation examined so that prospective buyers know exactly what the're getting but OFT not interested.

It's very bad for such a well thought-of manufacturer to be quoting such misleading figures. You are my last hope. Can you help?

Nothing to do with "gross misrepresentation." Merely a reflection that the official EC tests do not represent real life motoring, yet the EC figures are the only figures manufacturers are legally allowed to quote. Go to www.honestjohn.co.uk/realmpg and enter your true mpg against your car. I only ever got 22 - 28mpg out of this version of the X5.
