Declared my car SORN during Covid, how do I get it back on the road?

I declared my car SORN during Covid as I was working from home. Its MoT also ran. Now, I want to tax it and do an MoT. But I can't tax it without an MoT, how can I get an MoT done?

You can a car to a pre-booked MoT appointment if the road tax VED and MoT have both expired.

The car must be insured. And if you are stopped by the police on the way to the garage you may be asked to prove the car is insured and has a booked MoT test on that day.

After the car has passed the MoT, you can tax it online or over the phone before driving it home again.

If you take a car out of long term storage and drive it home to be garaged without tax or SORN, what would happen if the police stopped you? The car is insured.
