Do I need to tell my insurer about a non-fault accident?

Do I need to advise my insurance company if I have been in an accident which wasn’t my fault (I was hit from behind) or can I just claim on the other driver's insurance?

You will need to check your insurance policy but my assumption would be a strong yes.

The terms and conditions of your car insurance will usually insist that you inform the policy provider of any accidents, regardless of who is at fault. Failure to do so may result in your policy being void and/or affect any future claim if the other party refuses to accept liability.
