Will using an independent garage invalidate my car warranty?
My BMW X1 requires an oil service, as per the computer, with 9,000 miles on the clock. If I get this done by another garage will it invalidate the warranty?

No it shouldn't, provided the garage uses genuine parts and follows the manufacturer recommendations. Be aware that having a BMW franchised dealer service history may make the car easier to sell when you come to dispose of it.
