The latest Volkswagen Polo is an excellent little car. It's one of our favourite small cars. Also look at the very similar SEAT Ibiza, the Ford Fiesta or – if a hybrid appeals – the new Toyota Yaris.

Looks great on the outside and isn't too shabby on the inside either. Hybrid engine is cheap to run and relaxing. Autonomous aids make long drives painless.
