Camshafts in the wind

I really like the idea of gear train driven camshafts instead of belts or chains, since it obviously makes the engines virtually bomb-proof - a pity more manufacturers don't go down this route, although I can easily imagine why they don't. However, could you please clarify from your FAQ section - "some VWs have gear train driven camshafts rather than belts or chains" - so which engines/ cars have these please? And since Audi also share many engines within VAG ranges, which Audis also have them please?
