Why do my hazard warning lights come on for no reason?

I have a van and the indicators just come on at any time, sometimes all 4 hazards, too. If I take it for a run, this stops it for a while, but then the hazard lights come on again. I've fitted a new battery. Do you have any idea what this can be?

Our first check would be all associated wiring to the actual flasher unit. If that all looks okay then we would suspect the BCM (body control module) but we'd suggest getting this checked before replacing it.
