Return to National Service?

I have two Ford Focus Estates on PCPs with Freeway (Lex). One had its first 12,500 service this week and I was interested to see that Lex used a member of the National Service Network instead of the Ford Franchise here in Reading. The NSN garage appeared to do an efficient job. I had a telephone call to let me know that they were on their way to collect the car; it was returned on time impeccably clean inside and out and I was given a check list showing all the work done and the time taken. It looks like the franchises are under pressure on customer care and costs, which could be good for the private motorist. Have others shared experiences with you on NSN?

No, but I agree. If an organisation can specialise in and streamline
servicing, using the right parts, fluids and diagnostic equipment and without cutting corners, then it could bring an end to franchises subsidising unprofitable vehicle sales and glass palace premises with ludicrously overpriced service charges.
