I contacted you earlier in the week about changing our company car. We had decided on either a Ford Mondeo or a Ford Focus. However, our Head Office thinks we should go greener and have a Honda Hybrid. This car would do mostly long journeys. Are certain Ford models greener than others and could you tell me which ones and, bearing in mind that the car would mostly do long journeys, would the Honda be that much greener? Also, am I right in thinking that the Honda Hybrid has to be automatic?

Yes. My Focus ECOnetic 110 emits 116g/km and all current Focus 1.6 diesels are under 120g/km CO2. A similarly priced alternative is the new Honda Insight at 101g/km and priced from £15,500. Both these cars tested and video tested at www.honestjohn.co.uk . The original Honda Civic IMA was manual, but the current Civic Hybrid is a CVT automatic,
