Golf cause

Multiple queries: Current views on recent build quality of Porsche, Mercedes, Jaguar? I have a 2002 Celica Premium Sport Pack. If it was still made I would have another. I have around £30k and am considering a Boxter S, Cayman, SLK or SL, Jag XK, Nissan 350/370Z. Suggestions as to what is available please. I am 65 yrs and need room for me and my golf clubs. Occasionally the wife.

A current-shape XK 4.2, if you can find one for the money. Used prices went up this month. Lots of MB SLs around in that bracket, but better to go for a 2006 facelift 7-speed 272bhp 350 than the old 306bhp 500. It has sharper handling than the original. Porsche only if you want to drive really fast or take it on track days. Completely unsuitable as a golf caddy. You can only just get a bag of clubs into the boot of a Nissan 350ZX roadster (instructions inside the bootlid). Or calm down and think along the lines of a BMW 335i CI coupe, manual or auto (preferably manual, and manuals much cheaper).
