I put my car in SORN, does the MoT extension expiring affect this?

I have declared my car off road (SORN). It garaged and I do not intend to use it until next year. The MoT expired in April and I have just learned that all expired MOTs have to be renewed now by 1 August. Where do I stand?

The six month MoT extension will still have been applied, even though the car is on SORN. If you want to use the vehicle again you will need to take it off SORN. The car will also need tax and insurance.
