On the level

A friend recently had a minor accident in a multi-storey car park. His vehicle failed to respond when he tried to steer up one of the ramps to the next floor and, instead of turning, continued to go forward into a wall. He remembers seeing a spillage of something on the ground, but when the car park staff came along afterwards, they maintained that it had come from the radiator of the damaged car. Of course, they lost no time in clearing it up. My friend did not take any photos of the scene, so could someone ask to see any relevant CCTV footage? Even if there was no spillage, these car park floors are very slippery anyway and one frequently hears the screech of tyres as vehicles negotiate the tight turns. The car is mechanically sound (well, it was before the accident), so would my friend have a case against the car park operators? I would appreciate your opinion?

The screech is simply tyres on a polished non-grip surface. This could have been a diesel spill from someone's over-filled tank. But I don't see how you could prove this.
