United state?

A short time ago I read a piece in the Telegraph regarding number plates. Could you confirm one or two points for me? The number plate can only carry the registration number, the name of the garage (or the plate supplier) and the EU symbol - no other decoration or you can be fined £60 and if it is picked up at an MOT the car will fail. I have recently seen a reg plate with a picture of a dog incorporated on it (albeit on the back of a trailer) - I assume this is illegal too?

That's right, that's UK law, but apparently Jim Fitzpatrick is attempting
to curry favour by looking into ways that national flags such as those of Wales and Scotland can be incorporated into UK plates.
