Will my car be classified as a Cat D and will that affect the used value?

My 11 month old car has had its front and rear bumpers replaced after a low speed shunt where the airbags were not deployed. The insurance company of the driver responsible is standing the cost of all repairs. Will my car now have a Cat D rating and will it reduce the value of it?

Cat D no longer exist and categorisations are only applied when a vehicle is a total loss. Your vehicle is repairable and as such the value will not be reduced as a result of that. You are entitled to claim for "diminution in loss" reference the case law "Payton V Brooks", but the level of diminution would be negligible unless the vehicle has sustained structural damage or major paintwork.
