Are the police interested in dash cam footage of dangerous driving?

This weekend I have witnessed two examples of extremely dangerous driving - a driver overtaking a line of cars and a group of cyclists without any chance of seeing approaching traffic and a sports car being driven at a very high speed through our village. If these incidents had been caught on a dashcam, would the police have been interested in using the footage as a basis for a prosecution?

There's now a national dash cam database (provided by Nextbase) where drivers in England and Wales can send footage of accidents or illegal behaviour on the road directly to their local police force, as well as sending a witness statement that can then be used in court. It's here: www.nextbase.com/en-gb/national-dash-cam-safety-po.../
