Dacia Logan MCV (2013 - 2019)
1.5 DCI Signature
Adequate
Owned for 85,000 miles over 6-1/2 years.
In that time only 2 things have gone wrong.
Horn button failed, when wire broke internally in stalk and display on radio fades after being on for a while. Apparently the LCD module can be replaced.
After coming from a Ford Focus, the handling, which I hadn't really noticed on the test drive on straight roads, is abysmal. Very light steering and soft suspension with no anti roll bar felt horrible at first, but I've learned how to drive it now.
Smooth driving with no sudden movements allows good enough cornering, but you'll never imagine you're in an F1 car. ??.
Economy good with 60+mpg easy to attain out of town.
Very noisy on coa*** road surfaces, but don't find engine intrusive at all. Wind noise above 60mph can be bad as well and heavy rain can be deafening, so much so, it's hard to hear the radio. Noise is the biggest bugbear I have with the car.
Large boot, which is why I bought the car, is fantastic.
Fill it most weekends.
Roof bars very practical.
Does everything adequately, but nothing outstanding.
Would I buy the car again if it was on sale now?
In hindsight, no, I'd buy an Octavia or Focus estate for the same money even though they'd be older with higher mileage.
The lack of refinement would be my biggest complaint.
But as a workhouse for use at lower speeds, it's fine.
