Ford Focus 2010 1.6 (Petrol) - Focus Autobox Question - Pootle

Hi All,

I'm looking at Focuses around the 3-year-old mark to replace our ageing 2001/Y. Does anyone have any view on the auto box coupled with the 1.6 petrol? I like the car, but the auto concerns me, I've seen reports of problems with them... is it asking for trouble to look at an auto on these, and just be picky and stick to a manual transmission?

I'd be looking to hang onto the car for the long term, so reliabilty/durability/low maintenance are important to me.
