Buying an SUV - is a new Tiguan on the way?

I am considering buying a new VW Tiguan. In today's column you said a new model is imminent. The local dealer says VW have announced the end of 2016. Is this correct? If not could you suggest a similar alternative. Many thanks.

As far as I know a new one is imminent, together with a new SEAT SUV (which I have seen in secrecy) and the smaller VW Tiguan.
