Which winter tyres should I use on my Rover Sterling?

I need an extra set of wheels and tyres for winter use on my Rover Sterling. I have a spare set of Vitesse wheels, so it makes sense to use those rather than try and buy new. However, the Sterling tyres are 195/65 R15, whilst the Vitesse are 205/55R16. If sensible, which set would you recommend for summer use and which for winter?

The deeper profile 195/65 R15s for winter and the lower profile 205/55 R16s for summer. Happily, both are very common sizes. Remember to notify your insurer of the change of spec.
