I've just changed the wheels on my Volvo XC60 for smaller ones for winter tyres.

I have just switched my 2008 Volvo XC70 wheels and tyres from standard 235/55 R17 to winter 215/65 R16. The difference and improvement is amazing. The ride is vastly improved, road noise reduced, steering is lighter, fuel economy improved and tyres are £50 a corner cheaper. I now need to sell the 17-inch rims as I have no intention of putting them back on the vehicle. Churchill the insurer has been informed and made no charge.

Top marks to Churchill for that. But you may find the handling less precise on 215/65 R16 summer tyres.
