A small car with the 'right' image

As a headteacher of a large inner city school in an economically disadvantaged area it is important that my car portrays a suitable image.

Whilst the children say they would like me to have a flashy car it would not be appropriate to be flaunting along in something ostentatious.

What would you recommend? I was considering something second hand, maybe £10-15k. I don't often carry many passengers and most journeys are less than 10 miles in city traffic, with the occasional motorway trip.

Hyundai i10 1.2 Classic at £6,995.

Or a used Toyota Prius II. You don't quite have enough for a Prius III or an Auris HSD but they would make sense.

Pity the Renault Zoe electric is not yet available at about £15,000.

Much better than the original. An enjoyable, practical, safe, economical hybrid. Looks good, too. Prius Taxis have run to 400,000 miles plus with very little trouble.
