  • Ford Focus 1.6 Ghia - X plate (2000) - Temperature gague in the red when driving at speed 19 Dec 2011 (Forum)
When you back off down to 50-60 mph, it falls back to about the 2/3rds point. The header tank is up to the max mark with coolant, and it does not appear to lose any fluid.  It does not appear to overheat when sitting in traffic, so it seems puzzling. I thought it normally gets cooler at speed due to increase airflow?
  • Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 2004 2.0TDCi engine noises 29 Sep 2008 (Forum)
The above mentioned car (54 reg) went for an MOT today, the tester refused to carry out the emmissions tests due to a noisy engine. He felt there was an internal defect and would not consider taking the engine up to max revs in case the engine suffered severe internal damage. To my ear the engine is chattering, there is a puff of blue smoke on startup but fuel and oil consumption are very good. It also runs smoothly at 70mph.

  • Ford Focus - Looking to buy a Ford Focus 28 Dec 2019 (Forum)
Basically, I want to hear anyone’s opinions on these cars good or bad and the same on the engine. It will only be used as a run about in town so max 5-10 miles a day. Many thanks
  • Can I be a revolutionary? 9 Jul 2013 (Forum)
Neither are intuitive, with too many functions buried in hard find menus that take an age to drill down.   Compared to our S-Max and Juke, both with decent size touch screens in the centre of the dash, capable of dealing with most things within a couple of pushes so you can do things like pair up a phone at the trafic lights, rather than having to sit in the car park for five minutes.

  • Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - 2007 1.8 AM Radio & Wiper blades 5 Jan 2009 (Forum)
I have noticed recently that AM reception on my Focus Zetec (Diesel) has gone really poor with a constant hissing and crackling noise. I was driving past a Ford Dealership last week and called in on off chance to ask advice. I was told AM reception is poor & deteriorating countrywide and Ford say there is nothing you can do. Recommendation was "tune to a FM station".
