  • Ford C-MAX - early manual clutch burnout 10 Oct 2012 (Forum)
We have both been driving 50+ years a wide range of manuals and automatics. We were really surprised that the clutch had burned out so early and that Ford did not want to know, saying it was driver misuse  Although we live in a hilly area, and where there are speed bumps we have not had a problem before. We wonder whether this is a known problem and where we go from here.

  • Ford C-Max ecoboost - Ford recall on 1 litre ecoboost engines 23 May 2019 (Forum)
I have just had my car in to Lookers, Braintree after a Ford recall regarding clutch issues/ The recall said that in some circumstances the clutch plate could shatter causing serious potential for damage. The fix is crude - updating the EMS with a new module that will reduce power if high revs are detected during clutch action.

  • Which MPV? 29 Apr 2012 (Forum)
The most important factors for me are: * Comfortable for passengers (especially those prone to car sickness) * Safe and reliable * Enough space in the back to meet my needs * Not too thrirsy/ costly to run My budget will be around £7k and at the moment I am considering the Toyota Verso, VW Golf Plus, VW Touran and the Ford S-Max.  If there are any non MPV models that could meet these requirements, I would also be interested in considering them Any ideas please? Many thanks in advance! HH

  • Ford C-MAX (2003 - 2010) - Any views/opinions please? 3 Sep 2008 (Forum)
Hi all, I have been thinking about buying a Toyota Verso 1.8 petrol and, with all the rise in fuel and VED, I am begining to look around for an alternative. The other car which I am considering is the Ford C-Max. I had a quick sit in one in Motorpoint a few weeks ago and, partly because I was not really aware of the car and so my mind was 'set' against one plus I find the way I had to wrap my legs on either side of the large steering wheel column in a strange way, I admittedly did dismiss it.
