  Hi - I am selling my car which I imported. Several potential buyers have said they want to buy it through a finance company, but the finance companies concerned will not finance an import. Does anyone know a finance company that finances imported cars? tks

  If a car is on finance and the person paying the finance receives the VC5 documents and log book etc and has their details on it, would the registered keeper or finance company receive the NiP first?

  good morning everyone  I'm new on here but really looking for some advice.  I have an Audi TT which my ex partner purchased on finance and I would like to find out how much is left on the finance and to take over the payments however we are not in contact. I've done an Auto Trader check and it states the finance will be completed 31 October 25 but my worry is if he stops paying the finance the car will be taken back.

  Im currently trying to sell my MX5. However, i hve finance outstanding on it. If people ask ill have to explain that im using the proceeds of the sale to pay of the finance. is this standard/accepted practice or is it up to me to get a loan and pay the finance off before the sale?

  Hi, I have a general query on how does the short-term reject process work for a new car bought on PCP Financing. Since the financing company is the owner and the customer will be just a registered keeper, is the process initiated through the financing company? Each car manufacturer works with their own financing company so what happens if they start dragging their feet and slow down the process so that the 30 days period finishes.

  I recently went to a large Car Supermarket with the intention of buying a previously identified car. All went well until we came to look at finance. To cut a long strory short, I had arranged external finance which was far cheaper than the Supermarket could offer. The Supermarket salesman told me it was either a cash purchase or their finance deal and they they would not accept third party finance packages.

   I said that is great and left.   Wednesday I checked finance company online account,  finance is still outstanding.  Then I checked agreement I saw that "due in 28 days" which was quoted by finance company, I rang dealer and said when they are going to settle finance,  they said they have 28 days for them to settle.

  The building and facilities look very respectable. When we performed a HPI check the vehicle is showing outstanding finance. It is described as Unit Stocking with BMW finance for a 5 month period. I personally have come across this before and was not concerned as I was buying the vehicle using dealer finance, using the assumption that a finance company would not provide finance on a car that is already financed.

  Hey guys, I'm buying an car from main dealer, that was their ex-demo car. Upon HPI checking the car it has outstanding unit stocking finance on it, which I understand is common for main dealers to do to finance their stock. Can anyone recommend what I should do? Should I ask for it in writing that they clear the finance or should I wait until it is cleared?

  I have a query re HPI and settling finance agreements - once the finance has been settled and funds cleared how often do they update HPI's database? Is it regularly updated or would you have to do a check yourself and pay the HPI fee? Thanks

  Can anyone help me? I part exchanged a car with outstanding finance on it, but the part-ex offer more than covered the outstanding finance. My finance company sent a copy of the settlement details to the dealer the deal was they pay the finance off. No probs with the new car or new finance but the dealer hasn't settled the outstanding finance on my old car.

  A Mitsubishi car salesman told me there was no such things as 0% finance on a car. The cost of finance was recovered in other ways, as I would expect, for example via a higher cash price. Yet a Fiat salesman insisted that Fiat's 0% offer was genuine and would not give a discount for cash on the nail.

  I am in the process of buying a VW Passat from the Great Trade Centre in London, however it has outstanding finance on it. The GTC state on their invoice that all cars are sold without finance, can I trust them, or am I opening up a load of hassle for myself in the future. Ken

  I have been offered a very nice deal off a VW dealership(Family owned) over £1500 off the asking off a passat. The only thing that I am worried about is the fact when I did a HPI check it had outstanding finance owed to VW finance. The dealership advised me that it was there finance as they had been at a closed VW aution and purchased 10 cars. They advised me that once I had paid then the finance would be paid off.
