  Hi, Trying to decide on a small automatic as a first car whether new or used. Somewhere I read that the Micra may not be as reliable as they should because they now use Renault parts? And Corsa's have problems with the rear bulbs failing leaving the gear box in crawl home mode?

  A lot of my commuting was down a very busy dual carriageway (the A14 between Huntingdon and Cambridge), with traffic frequently crawling or at a standstill. It was this that convinced me of the benefits of an automatic - though I haven't succumbed to buying that hat (yet!). So how many BR's regularly drive automatics?

  My voyager suddenly had all the warning lights come on, including all the automatic indicator lights, but Not the engine managment light. Has anyone come across this problem, and know what causes it. Thank you hopefully. John.

  Fiesta 1.4 with Weber TLD carb. I think my automatic choke has failed, (difficult starting but no problem when running or starting from hot). Am I right in thinking the choke butterfly should be seen to be closed when the engine is cold (with air filter cover removed) ?

  Having read HJ views on driving automatics with left foot braking to maintain full control of the vehicle, I wondered how many of the recent headline stories of out of control cars may be caused by 'pedal confusion’.  I found that all these well reported cases all involved automatics and all driven by 80+ year olds as it happens.

  Due to a number of changes in my life I need a different daily driver. Basically it has to be a relatively small automatic 4x4 as much of my mileage is now along narrow and poorly maintained roads prone to flooding. A gammy leg means it has to be auto. My budget is limited to £2-3k. Any thoughts?

  Hi I am wondering if anyone can tell me how many gears the automatic ford galaxy has is it 4, 5 or 6 speed the engine size is 1.9TDI 115bhp I am sure I seen one when I was in a taxi it had the display showing six speed but local dealer is saying they are 4 speed.

  hello, I'm in the market for advice on my first car - I passed five years ago on a manual but then didn't drive until now, borrowing my mother's automatic hybrid to commute 60 miles a day. given the state of the car buying market, would it make more sense to relearn manual and buy a decent used manual rather than an extra expensive automatic that'll presumably only depreciate?

  Hi All  Hoping for some help to keep a long story short i needed to be driving as i have a new job coming up in a few months, after 15 manual lesson and still stalling, i went for automatic and was so much easyier and was better for me as i didnt have 6 months plus to wait around. now i have to find a good automatic for my budget which atm is only 1000 maybe can take it to 2000 if it was worth paying the extra for a first car, i did research and most people say go for japanese cars avoid the european automatics but a lot of them cars are not in my price range has any one got any suggestions for me ??

  It's been well-maintained, so it seems like a good buy. However, somebody has put me off the idea as the car is an automatic. He worked as a taxi driver for 20 years, and knows a fair bit about driving (well a lot more than me!!!), and said he wouldn't even consider an automatic in the mountains, as he says they are dangerous.

• Dacia Sandero Stepway - Dacia Sandero stepway automatically locks all door 19 Apr 2019 (Forum)
  My Stepway automatically locks all the doors within seconds of me getting in the car. I would rather make that choice myself and wonder if anyone knows if there is some way to disable this feature ? Cant seem to find it in the handbook.
