  hi i've got a problem with my air conditioning . the air coming out is not very cold , so i thought it might need a top up , however on feeling the pipes leading from the unit one was warm and one was lovely and cold. the fan in the car is going and with the engine going there is a click , a dip in revs and a short whirr then a click and dip in revs and whirr every 3-4 secs , any ideas?

    Even with everything switched off there seems to be a small current drain. I know this because when I disconnect and reconnect the positive battery lead to the battery terminal there is a small spark.  Everything is switched off, including courtesy lights. A couple of weeks ago the ECU was replaced (with a second-hand one) by a VW garage.

    It has a random cylinder misfire on all cylinders, no codes or management light, no water loss or h/gasket issues, has had new c/pack leads and plugs , misfire still there, went away for 3 miles once then returned, runs like a dog, Any help greatly appreciated.   Thanks

  can you buy a lead/adaptor that will connect one cars cigar lighter to another? I ask because I have a Blackspur battery charger/booster that connects via clamps, but also has a cigar lighter socket. If I could connect the booster via the 2 cigar lighter sockets I could trickle charge, without having to stand outside to keep the boot open (where the battery is on my model.)

  i've got a '97 2.5 v6 vectra with a constant misfire.i noticed it wasn't producing a spark on piston 3.so i replaced all HT leads,spark plugs and the coil pack in a bid to fix the problem.but it still remains the same with no spark on piston 3!.i have noticed the misfire seems to get worse when the car gets to normal running temperture.any advise or suggestions would be apprecitated.

  The wipers are parked a little way up from normal and will not respond to any switch command, apart from a faint initial 'kick'. Battery has just been replaced for new, and wipers have always worked previously. Any leads? I do not have my owner's manual with me to refer and do not even know where to begin, eg. where are the fuses?

  This runout seems to be the cause of belt noise in the first run of the day when auxiliary belt is dealing with alternator plus power steering plus aircon. My query relates to the style of fabrication or mounting which might lead to this condition and whether this is a known/previously reported problem? Terry

  This happens at any temparature and at any road speed. So far my Seat dealer has replaced the HT leads , the distributor cap , drained the fuel tank and replaced the fuel pump relay , all to no avail. Can any one help Pleaseeeeeeee?

  Need some advice on what to do please. husband changed spark plugs, hd leads and coil pack, after getting loss of power.He even changed to oil and filter. The car still judders but is slow to get up to speed at m.o.t they hooked it up to the diagnostic tester which came back with p0304 for the cylinder no.4 mis fireing.

  s (Ford Zephyr for example) were to be completely rebuilt as original and then run using synthetic oil and modern fuel (with lead replacement additives if required), would it fare much better now, mile for mile than it would have when it was new? Would there be any noticeable improvement in running and performance?

  why is the error still appearing. I can see no damp in the actual head lamp Could it me damp on some electrics leading into the head lamp unit? iF its damp will it just dry out

  No fuel reaches the injectors, and I know fuel is reaching the injector pump (Bosch). I have removed the solenoid, and gripped the body in the jaws of a connected -ve jump lead, and when applying +ve to the head there is no noise. Fair to assume it's not working?

  Sometimes there is a temporary lull in power which goes away again, many times this leads to stall with no power for few minutes, sometimes longer. Diagnostics found nothing. Ignition replaced under advice but still happens. Doesn't seem weather related Apart from immediatelyt before a stall there doesn't seem to be any issue with idle speeds or rev rates?

  hi guys my dads got a rover 416 sli L reg with what we beleive to be a handa engine , trouble is there is no spark at the plugs , weve tried different plugs leads cap still no spark , is it down to the coil if so what make of engine did rover put in these , also someone suggested that it could be the crankshaft sensor , but we`ve looked and looked and cannot find it , any ideas welcome thanks

  Leading on from a previous thread in which Mapmaker did advise that he was able to tell that his cambelt was about to give up, I'd just like to know what this sound is exactly? Specifically on GM engines if there is a difference I've been thinking that it may take the form of a rattle at high revs, or a screeching noise potentially, or even a regular ticking noise.

  The owner had the bonnet open to show the engine and I could hardly believe what I saw. In place of the HT leads was rusty barbed wire. The engine actually ran as it was driven to the site. Just thought it might be of interest.

  This usually happens on slowing down for a roundabout/junction or low speed manouvering.Idle is 600/700 revs most of the time but sometimes hunts between 400 - 1500. I have had the throttle body cleaned and new plugs and plug leads fitted. Any pointers would be apprecated.

  Just had an idiot driving down the middle of a road in the hatched area between lanes and threw up a stone and chipped my windscreen approx 4mm round area of windscreen 4 small lines approx 7 mm long leading from chip, my question is can it be repaired as its a heated screen will it have damaged the elements,has anybody any experience of these repairs.   Hi all, my mum has a ford ka with the old croosflow pushrod engine, haven't looked at it yet, just want to get an idea of what could cause this problem, im thinking plugs and leads, just wondering if anyone has come across this problem before and what was the cause??? Thanks in advance !!!! :-)
