All - Company charging fuel on real world MPG 28 Dec 2015 (Forum)
Hi all, while most companies were enjoying christmas eve parties, at our our company our company car drivers were sent an email to say that after a recent HMRC audit they adivsed the company bosses that they should work out company car drivers private fuel by actual real world MPG figures not the manufactures book MPG figure. We all have our fuel paid for and complete a business and private fuel record each month. We are then charged for private fuel based on the MPG figure of the car. -
Fuel level gauges 19 Dec 2000 (Forum)
Hi, I read a few weeks ago about the not-so accuate fuel level readings from the dash-board readout. I read HonestJohn's reply to this, and he stated that is is something to do with the design of the fuel tank (!?!). I recently brought a new Renault Clio (X-reg) and everytime I come to refuel the car, the pump clicks (I usually stop after a couple of clicks), but the fuel gage never shows a full fuel load. -

boycott certian fuel companies 2 Dec 2007 (Forum)
Is it not time that someone, somewhere did something about the spiralling cost of fuel? Why don't we ALL boycott BP and Esso, who are in fact the same company now? Do this for 1 month and they would soon reduce the cost of a litre of fuel. Any thoughts? -
3% Cashback on Fuel 15 Aug 2006 (Forum)
Just thought I would notify you of a credit card I have just received that pays 3% cashback on all fuel purchases. It also does it with grocery/food purchases. It is the GE Money everyday credit card. With fuel prices as they are it is an attractive incentive. Also there is no annual fee. -

Low sulpher fuel. 15 May 2001 (Forum)
I've noticed a reduction in economy of my bike over the last few weeks. It could be the Valve clearances & carb balance. However I suspect Low sulpher fuel may be to blame. Anyone else found they get less mileage out of low sulphur fuel in highly tuned engines? -

A mate of mine has just mis-fuelled his car (currently getting it drained). After the proper fuel is added and a new fuel filter (and provided no damage done), what is the best way to drive it ? I.e. does he let the engine get hot then give it a good blast down the motorway to get all of the fuel lines recoated ? -
Renault Clio II (2001 - 2007) - 04 1.2 Fuel gauge not working 17 Jul 2009 (Forum)
Friends clio has a none functioning fuel gauge, it was on empty this morning so she put some fuel in but it was still showing as empty and the warning light is on. I've had a good look round and there is no signs of any leaks etc. I suspect this is an electrical problem from the fuel gauge sender to the digital display on the dash is this a common problem with the Clio and is it a CANBUS system? -
Clio Oasis 1.2 '96 - fuel problems 2 Feb 2007 (Forum)
Car broke down, recovery chap said it was the throttle body. Mechanic said thought it was fuel starvation, has blown the fuel line through, and I think changed the fuel pump but still not working. It starts but there's no real revs and it won't idle. Mechanic now saying it's the ECU, but my brother says if it was the ECU it wouldn't spark so at a total loss. -

Hiss of Air When Fuel Tank Opened 16 Jun 2003 (Forum)
When I open the fuel tank of my Focus to fill it up, I always hear (and feel) a significant hiss of air around the filler cap. Is this normal? I thought there was a fuel tank air vent which would let air into the tank as petrol is used, to avoid a vacuum in the tank. -
