Toyota RAV-4 (1994 - 2000) - 94 2.0 Immobiliser removal and loss of ignition 9 Apr 2009 (Forum)
I have removed the 918T ECU unit from my Rav 4.First I could not run the starter motor until I was told to connect together the leads going to Pins 14 & 15 on the 15 pin socket. Others may be interested in this as it took me a while to find this out. I was highly chuffed to find the starter motor now functioned . -
Ford Fiesta (1995 - 1999) - 1997 1.3 Engine won't turn over 3 Apr 2009 (Forum)
My dads car won't start. It has been running fine then all of the sudden this morning there is no life in it. It just clicking noise and the engine clearly isn't turning over. I have checked the battery which is reading 12.5v, the connections all look good and the connections to the starter motor look ok. -

Honda Accord UK (2003 - 2008) - 05 2.0 Engine temperature gauge 28 Feb 2009 (Forum)
The temperature gauge needle on my father's Accord stays some way off the middle even when it's fully warmed up. He seems to think that it's no big deal because the car runs fine and the manual says only that it should rise to "about the middle of the gauge". I'm not so sure. I remember that my mother's old BMW did the same thing when it had problems with the cylinder linings. -
Toyota Aygo (2005 - ) - 05 1.4 Replacement rear bumper costs? 17 Feb 2009 (Forum)
Does this sound about right? she is reluctant to claim on insurance despite low excess of £250 because she has run a quote in theory without her 4 yrs no claims and it was £400 more, yes I know she is still better off but thinks in the long term if she can pay less to repair she'd be better off. Thanks in anticipation -
Renault Espace (1985 - 1997) - 94 2.0i Poor starting / idle 14 Feb 2009 (Forum)
Misfires during starting when cold and when does finally start it cuts out when I give it any gas and whole car shakes until after 5 minutes it runs ok except slightly uneven at idle. Looks as though someone tried to remove the Lambda and has damaged the body of the sensor quite badly. Could this be the cause? I was thinking possibly CTS as well? -

I've had the car for nearly 5 years and it has been regularly serviced and belts and pulleys changed. It has been running great, has 92K on the clock. Any ideas greatly appreciated! GazKaz -
Citroen Xsara (1997 - 2004) - Flooded (d'oh!) 10 Feb 2009 (Forum)
My sister drove her Xsara (aka my old car) into 3 feet of flood water today. Engine running at tick over, sucked water in and now non-runner. RAC towed it out and it tries to crank a bit but won't turn over. Clearly water in one or more cylinders. I suspect this is almost certainly a destroyed engine, but has anyone ever heard of an engine recovering from hydrauliccing after the water's been drained out? -
Ford Mondeo II (1996 - 2000) - 98 2.0 ABS fault ?? 10 Feb 2009 (Forum)
All was OK yesterday but this morning all is not well. Engine starts OK and runs normally. When reverse is selected and I gently ease out of my drive there is a slight vibration. Select Drive or !st or 2nd and the vibration is much worse. Vibration is speed related. I have only driven it 10 yards backwards and forwards to try to gather more info. -
Pump for transferring biodiesel to fuel tank 24 Jan 2009 (Forum)
I've been running my 52 plate Octavia estate on biodiesel since October last year. I buy in 25 litre containers and use a rudimetary suction pump to empty about half of it from container to fuel tank and then lift the container up and pour the rest in using a big funnel. -
Ford Fiesta (1989 - 1995) - 95 1.1 Starting fault 19 Jan 2009 (Forum)
Checked the alternator and battery which all working fine, had to change the fan belt. The car starts first time in the morning and runs well for a 13 year old motor with 73,000 miles on the clock, but got this intermittent fault not sure what?s causing it, ok on short trips. -
Renault Scenic (1999 - 2003) - 01 1.9dci loss of drive 13 Jan 2009 (Forum)
I tried to pull out of a junction, the engine was running but i had no drive. it was still in gear and they seem to change as normal. I have spoken to a renault dealer and the seem to think its the clutch, another garage thinks it could be a drive shaft? -
Nissan Terrano II (1993 - 2005) - 1999 2.7 - wont start in the cold 11 Jan 2009 (Forum)

Mazda 323 (1998 - 2003) - Radiator Leak Stopper 30 Dec 2008 (Forum)
I was suggested to temporarily pour in radiator leak stopper liquid but I'm not entirely sure if its a good idea. I don't want it to block anything that's needed to run the cooling system properly. Right now I'm just driving car to and from work and its 10 miles journey one way. I fill up the radiator before setting off and it easily gets me to my destination so I don't know if its well worth the risk? -
Ford Mondeo II (1996 - 2000) - 1998 2.5 Overheating 26 Dec 2008 (Forum)
No heat through aircon/heater unit - just cold air No visible loss of coolant Possible water from exhaust (no steam as far as I can see) but only running engine on idle to save overheating - as soon as I drive away gauge goes off scale Anyone with similar problems - could it be Head gasket ? Water Pump ? Thermostat ? If it is worse case ie head gasket - anyone know anything about K-Seal? -

Looking for: -Small car -Low insurance (we are 24&23 so want to keep the cost down) -Economic -Cheap to run etc. I am thinking of a 2002-2004 model with 40-60 on the clock. At the moment I am thinking it will be the choice out of the following.. Ka, Fiesta, Panda, Punto, 206 as they would match the above. -
Volkswagen Polo III (1994 - 1999) - 1997 1.4CL - Clattery Transmission 22 Dec 2008 (Forum)
Any views on the cause? The clutch isn't slipping. The clattering only became audible after a 100 mile motorway run a month or so ago.... {No need to repeat what you've already selected from the drop down menus as this automatically gets included within the subject header} -
Vauxhall Vectra B facelift (1999 - 2002) - 1999 1.8 responses puzzle 10 Dec 2008 (Forum)
Hi, My vectra runs very well especially on the motor ways, but i find if i am in traffic or idling for a while the responses when moving off is slow or hesitant, it is not the clutch, i had the timing belt changed recently but it was doing it before the belt change, any ideas what it may be, some times it responds better than others, i have noticed that it idles compared to my previous cavalier lower, around 500 instead of 900-1000 on my cavalier, is this any thing to do with the response from standing to accelerating Regards Ron -
Volvo S60 (2000 - 2009) - 05 d5 Vibration 1 Dec 2008 (Forum)
Hi,hope you can help, i've had my car for about 7 months and its always run very smooth, i recently had a new top engine/ torque bush fitted because the old one was splitting and since then i get a bad vibration at 60-70 mph. I've balanced all the wheels, there is no vibes through the steering wheel but there is through the floor and bulkhead, it feels like a drive shaft out of balance, but seems too much of a coincidence that a shaft would go when i had a bush fitted.... help its driving me mad, thanks.
