But what a run, I?m starting to get to be an old git, but the ability to throw the bird around and hunt down R1s, (you wouldn?t believe how much faster a bird goes in a straight line over 140 than an R1) makes up for the minor restriction.
• Ford Transit - Battery light coming on and off towards end of j 14 May 2025 (Forum)
  I ran the engine and saw the belt spinning so relieved to see it is still operational. I just read an article which advises to put the voltmeter on when the engine is running, which I haven't done yet, to look for a jump in voltage on the battery to indicate the battery is charging. Likely causes? I will also note that it is a new battery, bought only last year.

  My 5 year old HP Pavilion PC has an Intel Core i5 8400 processor with 6 cores and can run windows 11 when this question is raised in a Google search Question 1 to Google - Which Intel processors are supported by Windows 11? Answer from Google - All Intel® Core™ Processors that are 8th Generation and higher support Windows 11*.

  It’ll sit alright at motorway speeds and it’s managed 52mpg today according to the computer, despite me wringing its neck. They’re easy to park, cost buttons to run and I think they look quite good. I’ve missed wee cars. My Merc is utterly bland to drive and the (possibly deceased) Leaf isn’t any real fun either, beyond surprising the occasional boy racer in a BM away from junctions - it’s quick off the line.

  My car is half parked with its front still out, engine on and me still trying to reverse park. So I stopped the car , engine still running and confronted the " parking attendant. I have it  all on video . When I ask if he is writing my cars details on his parking ticket he said yes that i have not paid for parking before.

  The garage have told me they have put an additive in my tank and checked the air filter and pipes for blockages /  leaks and  to just run the car and see how it goes. However If i am potentially going to have to pay £250 per injector plus labour etc then I really need to think about trading the car in before i get landed with a £1300 bill.

  Our Yaris is now 7.5 years old, covered 45,000 miles doing school run, commutes, local trips etc, rarely sees the motorway.  It came with a 5 year warranty, but then became eligible for the new system whereby a new 12 month warranty is provided at every service up to ten years old 100,000 miles.
• Mazda 6 2.2d Sport Nav 2016 - What to do? P2118 & DPF Malfunction 5 Jul 2024 (Forum)
  Yesterday when driving locally a message came up saying DPF Soot accumulation too high. We decided to do a 22-mile run on the motorway at 3,200 revs to try and burn it off. We only did about 2 miles before the P2118 error code came up, followed straight away by a 'DPF Malfunction' message. We were fortunately not far from a slip road so immediately left the motorway.

  There are no errors messages and the glow plug light does light up momentarily when the engine starts, but doesn't stay on. Driving profile is very short school runs in the morning and afternoons with longer A road/motorway journeys at the weekends. Did a lot of searching this morning and glow plugs seem like a suspect. Is this most likely to be a glow plug problem based on the pattern?

  I stupidly let the HIace batteries crun flat a few times last winter by not taking it out for a weekly run, and had to replace both its big batteries: ouch £££. Last week, I have returned from over 2 months away in the Hiace, to find that my Almera battery was flat. I got the rescue people out to restart it, but it has flattened again.
• Honda Civic 2017 - Warning Lights Pinging on Startup 31 Mar 2023 (Forum)
  When I put the key in the ignition and switch it to the on position I regularly see the Deflation Warning Light flashing and then pinging followed by pings for the City Brake Assist (CTBA), the VSA, and the ABS. These warning lights stay illuminated on the dash during that driving session but the car runs perfectly and all braking-related functions are fine This only seems to happen when the car has been driven and warmed up and rarely, if ever, when starting from cold at the start of the day. On some days it does not happen at all.

  Is it possible for the back breaks to go from perfectly fine to completely gone in less than 3 months? I use the car mainly for school runs and the odd day trip so it’s not done many miles in the time that I’ve had it but I feel pretty sick about the fact that I’ve been driving my kids around in a potential death trap.
• Potential Court Appearance for Parking on the Grass? 13 Dec 2022 (Forum)
  I spotted a space on the verge free up next to another car so felt fortunate and pulled in thinking nothing of it. Having had a fun but cold run around the park we returned to the the car. I was shocked to see a parking ticket.. Only it wasn't a parking ticket.  It was a NIP stating "you may be prosecuted for the offence through the Magistrates Court".

  We’re still just with worse to drive and less efficient SUV wannabe’s like the Qashqai and swmbo’s HRV instead, while I’d really rather have a good Camry, examples of which you see regularly here dating back to the 80’s and 90’s and still running. I did spot a few Honda HRV’s and CRV’s and several showed paintwork damage from the heat, one HRV had the paint on the roof burnt off. Possibly it’s been a non-insurance approved bodge repair job but it wasn’t the only Honda I spotted with paint issues.

  There is an excess build up of fluid coming out that they have acknowledged, and currently that is being tested as it shouldn't be there after having yhe car running all day around the workshop, and they have admitted that the sound, even IF condensation, should not sound that bad, but we are still none the wiser. The problem is, my car is just being whacked onto a diagnostic every day, and the problem is clearly within the exhaust system or slightly higher up so I doubt will be sensored.

  The main reason I ask is due to being interested in older petrol versus diesel cars, and as someone who will do mostly 30-40 min commutes on A & B roads (40-60 MPH) is the likes of a DPF of concern, still? It will get short runs at weekends.  I really like the look of 2.0 TDI VW Golfs, in Match/SE/GT specification, typically there are examples around 80-110K miles, 2009-11, for approx £4000.00. Is this a foolish purchase?

  Hi, I purchased a 2009 Ford Fiesta for a run around to get to and from work. The car drove well and had low mileage so was really happy with it. Couple of days after getting the car I smelt something that I believed to be cigarette smoke as it was so potent.

  Hi, I picked up a 2007 Clio Dynamique 1.4 petrol a month ago - with 110,000 miles on the clock, seemingly in lovely condition. Both outside and inside it was extremely clean. It pulls like a train in all gears and runs so quietly and smoothly I sometimes can’t even tell the engine is on - a big improvement on my 02 Yaris! It had a single advisory at MOT 9 months previously '‘front play in steering rack inner joint(s) both ()'.

  Also, sometimes when turning over it sounds like it is trying to fire on three cylinders with that 'digadigadiga' noise, but this has never been the case when it is running. Losing power: A few weeks ago while driving along on a steady throttle in 5th gear at about 50mph, it abruptly seemed to lose power and revs, almost like my foot had slipped off the throttle (the engine didn't cut out).

Eml light on limit speed 5 ECU faults P2121 accelerate pedal sensor P1260 immobiliser malfunction P0571 brake switch malfunction P0231 electric fuel pump open circuit U1900 can bus data malfunction the others were not listed.
