  • Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet (2011 - 2016) (Reviews)
The Golf Cabriolet has always been a popular and instantly recognisable part of the Volkswagen line-up. So it’s all the more puzzling why it took nine years to replace it. Since the old Cabriolet (which was a Golf III with a Golf IV nose grafted onto the front) went off sale in 2002, there’s been the Beetle Cabriolet and Eos, but neither of these drop-top Volkswagens has quite hit the spot in the same way as the Golf Cabriolet did.
  • Volkswagen Polo GTI (2010 - 2018) (Reviews)
Read our review here . The Volkswagen Polo GTI was intended as a junior Golf GTI, but it only really hit the mark when it gained a 1.8-litre turbo engine in 2015. With the Volkswagen Golf GTI a huge success, a smaller hot hatch would be just as big an earner – that was the thinking behind the original Volkswagen Polo GTI.
  • Volkswagen T5 California (2010 - 2015) (Van Reviews)
The Volkswagen California may be based on the fairly humble Transporter, but its roots go far deeper than that. The California is, to all intents and purposes, today’s ‘camper van’. That gives it legendary lineage.
  • Volkswagen T5 Caravelle (2010 - 2015) (Van Reviews)
However the Caravelle is still expensive to buy new, especially when there are cheaper seven-seaters available - although few are as upmarket as the Volkswagen. Driven: Volkswagen Caravelle In the MPV space race there are few vehicles that can match the Volkswagen T5 Caravelle for sheer size or all-round ability.
  • Volkswagen Golf Estate (2009 - 2013) (Reviews)
This Volkswagen Golf estate isn't quite as new as it looks. It may have the headlights and grille of the 2009 MK VI Golf hatchback, but it's essentially the same car that was on sale from 2007-2009. Volkswagen has done something similar with the Golf Plus and both cars are based on the Golf MK V, rather than the newer MK VI.
  • Volkswagen Golf Plus (2009 - 2014) (Reviews)
The Volkswagen Golf Plus sits a little awkwardly in the range. It's marginally larger than the standard Golf hatchback, yet doesn't quite offer the huge space of the estate. Those who are likely to find it most appealing are small families who are looking for practicality in a compact package.
  • Volkswagen Passat CC (2008 - 2012) (Reviews)
Very good looking, stylish alternative to the standard Passat. Coupe looks with plenty of rear passenger space. Quality improvements.
  • Volkswagen Golf Estate (2007 - 2009) (Reviews)
If you're looking for the newer version, you need our Volkswagen Golf Estate review .
  • Volkswagen Golf Plus (2005 - 2009) (Reviews)
A taller, roomier, more versatile version of the Golf Mk V. Good ride and reasonably tidy handling. The 2.0 TDI 140 DSG is the one to have.
  • Volkswagen Golf R32 (2005 - 2009) (Reviews)
    Quick, surefooted and well equipped.
  • Volkswagen T5 Transporter (2003 - 2015) (Van Reviews)
It could easily be argued that Volkswagen invented the whole modern light van market with its 1950s original, complete with Beetle-derived air-cooled engined. The Transporter is the latest in this long line of Volkswagen vans and, like its illustrious ancestors, it comes in a broad range of body styles to appeal to everyone from tradesmen to surfers.
  • Volkswagen Passat W8 (2001 - 2003) (Classics Reviews)
And so it was that the board at Volkswagen decided to offer a car for every kind of buyer. At the bottom of the food chain was Fox, at the top was Phaeton (if you bought a Phaeton you got a free Fox in some markets), and somewhere in the middle was the Passat W8.
  • Volkswagen Golf Mk4 (1998 - 2004) (Classics Reviews)
Despite Volkswagen having a renowned reputation for high quality and reliability, this Golf suffered from a huge number of problems over its lifetime. That doesn't make the Volkswagen Golf a bad car in itself, it just means you need to be aware of any potential problems when buying.
  • Volkswagen New Beetle (1998 - 2011) (Classics Reviews)
The New Beetle started its life in 1994 as Concept One – a retro-themed motor inspired by the original Beetle and designed by J Mays. People loved it and so Volkswagen pressed ahead, releasing a near production ready Concept Two a year before the New Beetle went on sale in 1998. Based on the MkIV Volkswagen Golf, the car opted for style over interior space.
  • Volkswagen Golf Mk3 (1992 - 1997) (Classics Reviews)
It was also a car of many firsts… It had water-based paint (which, sadly, made it somewhat rot-prone), it was more recyclable than any other car in its class, and in ‘Ecomatic’ format was the pioneer of today’s stop-start technology for Volkswagen Group cars.
  • Volkswagen Golf Mk2 (1983 - 1992) (Classics Reviews)
Volkswagen’s re-invention of the influential Golf trod a rather predictable path. More rounded styling - now done in-house, instead of by Giugiaro - clothed familiar engines and similar looking interiors, but incorporated some rather useful improvements inside and on the road.
  • Volkswagen Scirocco Mk2 (1981 - 1992) (Classics Reviews)
Great to drive, 16V GTX model an absolute peach
  • Volkswagen Passat and Santana (1980 - 1987) (Classics Reviews)
Roomy, no frills transport, gaining some classic kudos
  • Volkswagen Polo Mk1 (1975 - 1981) (Classics Reviews)
Like the Passat, this Volkswagen started life as an Audi. Yes, forget the 1990s A3 or A2, the first small Audi was actually the 50, which begat the Polo in 1976. Styled by Bertone and featuring all-new EA111 overhead camshaft engines, the Polo was a class leading car from day one, despite its small boot and cramped rear seat.
  • Volkswagen Golf Mk1 (1974 - 1983) (Classics Reviews)
Invented the family hatchback as we know it today, good to drive, easy to own, practical
