Ecotek Fuel Saver 5 Jan 2003 (Forum)
Does anyone know if this is worthwhile? And if it is, I wonder why the technology's not being used by car manufacturers (unless something to do with patenting...) frmarcus -
Peugeot 806 MPV (1995 - 2003) - 01 2.0 Fuel pressure sensor fault 21 Jan 2010 (Forum)
Again this was clean and no signs of wear. I have dropped the fuel tank and taken out the fuel lift pump and inspected it. The pump was cleaned, the tank inspected (no dirt/gelling bio/metal fragments) and drained and again all looked ok. On reinstalling the fuel lift pump and tank, the car was now cutting out more frequently, only running for half a minute before dying. -
Peugeot 406 (1999 - 2004) - 01 2.0 HDI 110 - P0190 AP Fault 21 Feb 2009 (Forum)
I have had an anti pollution fault come up a few times. P0190. On the scanner used it said "Fuel Pressure Regulation - Pressure Coherence" but I have seen this more commonly described as "Fuel Pressure Sensor Circuit Malfunction". If the fuel isn't flowing properly would this cause this DTC? I am wondering if there is something in the fuel tank that may clog the uplift pump but moves away when the car is at a certain angle. -
Fuel prices going down this evening? (Mar 23rd) 27 Mar 2022 (Forum)
Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng demanded the lower prices for petrol and diesel after Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced he was axing 5p off fuel duty per litre from 6pm on Wednesday. He tweeted: 'The public will rightly expect to see the 5 pence Fuel Duty cut reflected quickly in the prices shown on the forecourt this evening.' He added: 'This afternoon, @RishiSunak and I have written to major retailers, trade bodies and the supply chain to set out our expectations.' -
Nissan Qashqai 1.5dci - Fuel pressure regulator and starting/running prob 10 Dec 2021 (Forum)
When the problem exists, I can start the car and immediately push the accelerator to about 1500rpm for about fifteen seconds and the car stays running. The fuel rail has been cleaned several times and they have checked for air leaks and fitted new grommets to the fuel filter. HELP. Do you have any ideas? -
Old cars, especially historic vehicles - Rubber fuel lines 27 Jul 2021 (Forum)
Drip -drip-drip onto the now sodden cardboard which lives under the TR7. Aarrgghh! Out onto ramps and urgent syphoning into my 4 gallon plastic fuel can (which came overland from Zambia 47yrs ago) until I could remove the rotten 41 year old six inch rubber pipe connecting the tank outlet to the fuel line. Fortunately I had a spare length from a similar sort of repair on another car back in the mists of time which, after immersion in boiling water, softened up sufficiently to fit. -
Honda Civic 06 2.2 Cdti - Honda Civic 06 Fuel Starvation 26 Nov 2015 (Forum)
Problem occurred last year about the same time when temperature dropped below 8 degrees the car become hesitant when accelerating from junctions some times conking out or slow moving as if starved of fuel, the same happens when travelling in slow moving traffic then accelerating to overtake then when you move back into a slow moving flow and go to accelerate it conks out or becomes slow moving. Checked out V.O.S.A website and found that there was a recall on fuel pump for this model and year but Honda says that my car is not affected by the fault, the car has been serviced EGR cleaned, new fuel filter( not Honda). -
peugeot 306 hdi - fuel pump primery curcuit 6 Mar 2011 (Forum)
i have just bought a peugeot 306 hdi, after having it about a month the engine manegment light came on and the car cut out, i thought it was the diesel because it was very low so i put some in and it still would not start, i had it put on a diagnostic computer and the code was po230 fuel pump primery curcuit, he cleared the code and the car run for about 1 hour so i was told to change the fuel pump relay which made no differance at all so i tryed a fuel pump (the one in the tank) but still no joy, now the car will only start for about five seconds before it cuts out but some times it will tick over for a while but when i try to rev it it cuts out and plus it would only rev to 2500 rpm and when i switch it off with the key it over runs for about 4 second. i hope some one can help as i dont know what to do next. thanks -
Citroen Xantia 20lhdi(2000) - fuel system 29 Jan 2011 (Forum)
Non starter.I read the threads about the fuel pumps/filters and am a bit lost.( I am e retired old school mechanic, and this new stuff is a pain in the bum, with all these needless sensors.)I have checked LP fuel flow to pump, but read somewhere it needs to be 50psi or it won't prime the HP pump.Is this so? -
BMW K100 RS 8v 1985 fuel/ECU breakdown 8 Jun 2009 (Forum)
On way back after ~10 miles, with water temp at 80C and no problems it suddenly died. Fault traced to fuel pump relay not functioning. It works if we earth the yellow & brown cable which goes from connection 85 of the relay to connection 7 of the ignition control unit. Manual suggests "fuel supply will be shut off" if there is a high water temp, or other fault which turns off ignition, but I assumed this would mean isolation of the injectors usually. -
Mazda Mazda 6 (2008 -) - 08 2.0d erratic fuel consumption 28 Apr 2009 (Forum)
I have had a 2008 Mazda 6 diesel for a year. The fuel consumption in general is very good until the car decides to rev higher than normal. I keep the computer set for average fuel consumption because of the infuriating problem the car has. On a long journey the mpg gradually increases and then all of a sudden it starts to drop. -
Every cloud.... fuel prices. 2 Oct 2008 (Forum)
All in all, I think my fuel costs have actually gone down - with no apparent loss of function or pleasure. It's almost fun being more frugal & getting the same (lifestyle) for less. -
Peugeot 206 hatchback (1998 - 2006) - 54 1.6 hdi 110 fuel consumption change 28 May 2008 (Forum)
Hi im lookin for some advice. Iv only had my 206 GTI hDI 110 for around a month now. At first i was very happy with the fuel economy! The last few days whilst driving all of a sudden the fuel consumption drops to between 38-42mpg. (yes on instant MPG) when this happens the average MPG drops down and so does the miles left to empty! -
Citroen Berlingo Multispace (1998 - 2010) - 1996, 1.9d, fuel pump/ immobiliser 22 Mar 2008 (Forum)
i am looking at this for a friend - he had the immobilser by-passed by his local garage. A ignition-switched supply was connected to one of two leads to the fuel-cut off solenoid - behind the cover on the lucas fuel pump. Several other wires in this region (not all) were cut at the same time. At the same time, a "miss" developed when under load. There is a four way connector that connects in front of the solenoid. -
Ford Fiesta (1995 - 1999) - 1998 1.3 - Engine trouble 22 Feb 2008 (Forum)
It appears that there is minimal fuel pressure building up but the fuel pump is operational! Can anyone help me out please? Cheers (someone else who hasn't managed to grasp that they should put the year & engine details in the subject header ) -
Vauxhall Corsa B (1993 - 2000) - 1993 1.5d Bleeding Diesel fuel filter 27 Jan 2008 (Forum)
My hubby has a 1.5D Corsa, on which he changed the fuel filter yesterday. According to the manual, there is a bleed screw on the top of the filter housing, which you bleed until it flows with diesel, to ensure no air in the system. He tried this, even taking the screw right out instead of the 2 turns the manual recommends, and no fuel appears. -
Peugeot 205 (1983 - 1997) - 1.9 GTi overfuelling 10 Sep 2007 (Forum)
Where is this relay on the vehicle, I have spoken to my local dealer who do not have a clue!!! Could this be causing the problem? Is it true that the fuel pumps are either on or off on these? Should it be supplying a constant run of fuel across the rail? The only thing i can think of is maybe the coolant temp sensor but the worry i have is the amount of fuel it is pumping, it quarter fills a 5 litre jerry can in about 20 seconds of cranking!
