  I have put my grandmother's Clio up for sale on this site and on a couple of others and received an email during the night from someone purporting to be in Spain which reads: Hello,I am from Spain,i was going through the classified ads when i came accross your advert concerning your Renault Clio £750 for sale i am really intrested in buying,pls let me know the features and condition including your last price you are willing to sell,Get me all this asap.

  Just come back from a week's cruise to Spain and France and I was impressed with the way they have separate cycle and pedestrian lanes off the main roads. No making the roads narrower by painting a few lines but every one had their own dedicated lanes.

  The only problems over the three years of ownership was a new battery after leaving the car in the garage when we were in Spain for six months. Is it really worth the cost?

  As I know to my cost, (Living in Spain & with U.K. originating pensions paid in Euros) the current exchange rate is dreadful for buying euros with £s. All you folks intending to go the personal import route should keep an eye on F.Ex rates!
• Espace Diesel overheating 11 Jul 2002 (Forum)
  Our 2000 Renault Grand Espace 2.2 DCi started overheating and the engine cutting out in the Pyrenees last year. Garages in Spain and the UK failed to find any cause for this and the problem has increased, the final straw being the cutting out of the engine in slow traffic on Piccadilly! Any comments / ideas / tips gratefully received as we are off on a holiday to Southern France in a couple of weeks!

  I am considering a 2.0i Ghia, the UK spec has lots of nice to have extras as standard. If I import it or buy it from Trade Sales (imported from Spain) can I expect it to have all of the bits that a 'UK Spec' car would have? Anyone got any experience? (particularly with Fords) Thanks 'First Time Importer'

  We're all familar with the exorbitantly-priced metallic paint options; Kia appears to have reached new heights with their Niro pricing in Spain - paint is now a priced option - metallics €450 + tax - plain white €150 + tax - no "free" choices available. They don't have a configurator on their UK website, so can't check if it's spread there - probably will if they can get away with it.
• Skoda Fabia Estate Mk1 - Air Con 27 Jul 2015 (Forum)
  2005 Mk1 Fabia Estate. 1.9TDi FSH from new, but no mention anywhere of any work or recharging of the air con. Currently in Spain and whilst the air con does work, I am not convinced that it works as well as it could; that might be due to the heat. My question is, to what temperature should the system cool the air, or by how much from ambient should it drop?

  The hatchback that Nissan will be introducing (not the replacement for the Note, but the larger C segment hatchback), will be moved to another European factory - possibly Spain or Russia (where they will also build the next generation Qashqai and the Almera sedan for the Russian market).

  Despite a reasonably favourable press, Kia don't seem very confident in Spain - all models are available with an immediate  €2,850 discount. Thus the basic 1.2 petrol is available for €12,290 gross , €9,440 net.  Top of the range 1.4 diesel Emotion (trim 3 UK?)

  Just reflecting on last weekend's carnage here in Spain. 24 killed on the roads, and TV reports as usual referring to "accidents" "caused by fog". Judging by the cars that overtook me in one 45 minute drive through some horrendous patches of fog, mostly going at twice my speed and with no lights on, the proliferation of automatic transmission, cruise control and automatic headlights leaves drivers of *certain large cars* comatose if not actually brain dead in fog.

  I won't be surprised if in few years time the term "Japanse reliability" will synonym like "French reliability". • Winterproof cars 1 Nov 2004 (Forum)
  (Especially when you remember Rootes rot-boxes rusting through in 18 months ) But-are all cars the same these days ? Are cars made for ,say Spain, or Greece just as winter proof as cars made for the UK or Sweden ? Would it be economic to fiddle around with different levels of waxing or galvanizing or are the makers looking to save every penny ?
• Citroen Xsara 2.0HDi Clutch Bearing 27 May 2003 (Forum)
  I own a 3 year old Xsara 2.0HDi and according to HJ breakdown data the clutch release bearing fails at around 30,000 miles. I should be in Spain on a touring holiday when I reach this mileage so I am somewhat concerned. Has anybody experience of this failure or is the reported problem just on the very early examples of this engine/clutch combination on Citroen and Peugeot cars ?

  Folks, I am looking for a Rover 75 CDT 2.0. In particular a LHD, as I intend to move to Spain soon. Now, I have been told that Rover recently returned a number of these cars from the continent and they are currently selling them through dealers. Is there any way I can get hold of some dealers who might help?

  Can anyone tell me whether this is a factory fitted chip change, an importer chip change or whether this is a standard car offered in Spain but not here. Also, how different is the injection system design on the 110 (and therefore possibly this 143) to the newer PD systems.

  Happy New Year everyone! Last month I bought a 2001 Renault Scenic RX4 Privilege 1.9dci from an expat in Spain. The car had around 120K miles on the clock and was advertised as having a brand new clutch and gearbox. The seller said he was moving back to the UK and this was the only reason for the sale.
