• Nissan Qashqai - Which cars have Active DPF regeneration? 20 Mar 2018 (Forum)
  Hi all, I currently have a Nissan Qashqai 1.5 dci and looking to get another diesel in the next few months. Preferably diesel and automatic. I like the fact that my current Qashqai has active DPF so it allows me to do short journeys as well as long ones. I like the Nissan Xtrail as it would suit my needs with a growing family and being over 6ft. Are there any other cars that have this Active DPF technology as I cant seen to find anything on the web other than what Active DPF tech is?

  Hello, I ned some advice because I've read conflicting info. I am thinking of getting a diesel mazda 6 but have read a post on here about the DPF issues with the Mazdas but I have also read that it's DPF's in generall that are an issue. So I have a few question to help clear things up. To prevent DPF issues, do I really just have to take it on the motorway for 10mins a week?

  hi i have fault codes 1) particulate filter bank1 clogged upper limit reached 2) particulate trap bank below threshold not a plausible signal someone told me to check DPF pressure sensor and change it. when I looked I just have 1 pipe connected to it. cant find 2nd pipe coming from DPF is it possible that q7 has only one pipe connected to DPF pressure sensor? from catalist converter only 1 pipe and one wire comes out.

  I'm giving serious consideration to buying an 06-07 plate mazda 6 2.0D and having the DPF removed as from my research this is the main problem area with this car/engine. I am aware of possible MOT complications in the future and after talking to a few places they tell me I can fit the 'original' pipe (containing DPF) before the MOT then remove is straight after without much difficulty.

  HI IVE JUST RECENTLY PURCHASED A MAZDA6 2.0D SAKATA, IM AWARE THAT THERE HAVE BEEN ISSUES WITH THE DPF BUT I DO MAINLY MOTORWAY MILES SO HOPING I SHOULD BE OK HOWEVER I STILL ONE TO KEEP AN EYE ON IT AN JUST REALISED THAT WHEN I SWITCH ON THE IGNITION ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS COME ON EXCEPT FOR TH  DPF SO IM WORRIED THAT IF THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE DPF I WILL BE UNAWARE IF THE LIGHT DOESNT WORK.

  Thinking about buying the IX35 in either 1.7 or 2.0 diesel .Has anyone heard of the dreaded DPF problem with this model?.I know it depends on driving style etc but some makes fare better than others.Any views welcome.

  Regards warranty, is a DPF covered with a 4 year warranty?  Reason why I am asking, I have had diesels before, but I never thought about or questioned about the DPF.

  We want another car, we also want something economical...this to us means a diesel...BUT they all seem to come with this DPF that appears to clog up all the time. Sorry if this has come uo before but I didn't see it on a quick look. We have Fiat Doblo at the moment, the DPF had been "modified" & is no longer a problem...are these things a major problem now?

  I am now thinking of my next car. I would like to try a diesel now but they all come with a DPF. I know that DPF tends to be very problematic and the repair costs are high. This might not cover the fuel savings made by driving a diesel vehicle. I do not cover that many miles per annum (7k), my driving is mixed (50/50, urban and motorway).

  Does anyone on here know for sure if the new shape 1.5 diesel is fitted with a DPF. A salesman at Fords assures me it's not. But I thought all new diesels had them fitted as standard.

  Would a DPF block up so soon after say only 6 months? it seems really strange to me. They have tried plugging the computer in again and revving it again for 10 mins, but still not cleared the fauit.   Car has done 88k , surely i dont need another DPF ?

  Hi all Trying to find out whats wrong with my motor Using the car as taxi, lot of town driving , no motorway sometimes for weeks First the lack of powerat around 75k miles, felt like the turbo was held back, kept on driving anyway, two weeks later, big "exhaling" sound as it can be from an engine and just stopped. Towed, although when cooled could be started again. Into Vauxhall, changed manifold and dpf and they said I had a lot of excess oil. Genuine manifold, aftermarket dpf. Since then, when regening, huge blue smoke comes out and doing the process for way too long and sometimes too often and excessive oil builds up Could it be that some kind of seal gave in, when I was driving for too long without turbo and in the mean time the dpf clogged up, so maybe the pressure that built up for these reasons just led the weakest seal to break?
