Golf Mk VII:  On 4 September 2012, Volkswagen celebrated the world premiere of the seventh generation Golf.  The weight of the new Golf was reduced by up to 100 kg, thereby reversing the often cited upward weight spiral.  Fuel economy was hence also improved by up to 23 per cent.

Values for the 442 Series are rising and this car is expected to sell for around £14,000.

  Many of the cars had been modified for filming, with V8s under the bonnets and competition automatic transmissions. The stunt double pair of 1937 Chevrolet 'Yellow' cabs also had special hydraulic brakes to throw them into drifts, while, though four 1939 Buick 8 Model 40s looked outwardly identical, one had a V8 under trhe bonnet instead of the original straight eight.

  Aftermarket Stop Start improves economy up to 25% 12 Sep 2010 (News)
    The SpeedStart B-ISG system can integrate with many powertrains and has been demonstrated to crank 2.0-litre diesel engines and gasoline engines up to 4.4-litres.  It also accommodates automatic transmissions.  From an OEM perspective, this can be a very attractive cross-platform solution.   There is very little modification to the base engine design or vehicle electrical architecture enabling vehicle manufacturers to apply the technology at relatively low cost.
