Renault Clio Sport Tourer - Can anyone identify this noise please? 17 May 2022 (Forum)
Im hearing this maybe once a week, and sometimes there is oil under the car. It only happens on start up and the car runs fine after, with no further noise or issue. I took it to my local garage and they said (after a quick "im busy" look) that they saw nothing wrong. I asked if it could be the timing belt, but they said no as the belt wouldn't make a noise like that. -
Peugeot 2008 1.2 Allure Premium 130 EAT6 - Seven months and 3000 miles so far 22 Oct 2021 (Forum)
So far I am the only one to review this particular 2019 model, one of the last of the production run before the new 2020 (and much pricier - ours cost £17K on the road) model appeared. -
Nissan Note S - Welding and car value 22 Mar 2021 (Forum)
I had some welding done on my current car at the last MOT and am curious to know if that would affect the sale price. It's pretty old anyway so not expecting much but runs well and has had a lot of work done (clutch, suspension etc) so am keen to try and get some cash for it. Would you consider a car that has had welding work or is it as good as scrap at that point? -

2011 Volkswagen Golf 2.0TDI - Is this amount of blow-by acceptable? 27 Feb 2021 (Forum)
So I noticed when I take the oil cap off when the engine is running, there's disturbing amount of smoke or steam coming out of the oil filler hole. I know it's engine blow-by and it's expected of a 140K miles car, but is this amount considered normal? Is it time to say goodbye to the car? -
VW Golf Mk7 long-term reliability? 29 Aug 2020 (Forum)
I know Civics are hugely reliable, how about the Golf? I'd be looking for one around the 50k miles mark (with a full service history) that I can run into the ground and make it last as long as possible. I'm just worried it could end up costing a lot to maintain in comparison to the Civic? Any thoughts are appreciated -
Ford grand cmax. - honda crv - What's best 31 Jul 2020 (Forum)
But on this post I wondered what people thought about spending £10k on a ford grand c max 1.5 diesel that's about 3.5 years old or a honda CRV that's nearly six years old . Not so much about the cars as such more about reliability and general running costs over the next few years -
Honda/Toyota - Used SUV auto 30 Jun 2020 (Forum)
Looking for a 3 year old car and would like to keep for at least 7 years. My question is what cars and auto transmission types are more reliable in the long run? Do CVTs do better than the DSGs? Or the conventional torque converters are better suited? CRVs and RAV4s are what I am considering at the moment. Heard Mazda patrols are not so good! Anything else out there? -
EV perks 20 Jun 2020 (Forum)
EV drivers are also getting subsidised fuel in the form of cheap electric. When will the average driver be able to afford and run a EV and until then carry on helping the well off with their motoring -
Citroen Dispatch Van - Oil leak 7 Jun 2020 (Forum)
Hi everyone, my van has suddenly developed an oil leak. It doesn't seem to be leaking when the van is parked but when the engine is running theres quite a steady flow coming out of the front of the engine. It seems to be coming out of something fastened to the front of the engine near the bottom, it's about the size and shape of a fat wallet. -
Minivan for long distance? 17 Feb 2020 (Forum)
I am in need of some suggestions for a vehicle to be used for very long runs around Europe. I need something with a lot of space and where the rear seats fold down into a bed. So a minivan or van base. I had thought of a Nissan Elgrand but am put off by the fuel costs. Has anyone got any suggestions? -

BMW 3 Series 318d - 318d 2010 replacement water pump, engine damage? 15 Sep 2019 (Forum)
My car is getting a new water pump. The mechanic says i should get rid of the car, the engine is running fine but as i ran it on low coolant for a few days, he thinks the engine might be troublesome down the line, though no overheating light came on. Any opinions on whether he could be right? -
Peugeot 206 1.4 Petrol - Dirty brown stuff inside coolant reservoir 16 May 2019 (Forum)

Kia venga 2 1.4 petrol manual - 18 months on - old 6 Jun 2018 (Forum)
Routine servicing with annual oil changes so far and no problems except for one weeping shock absorber, no doubt down to the state of our roads. Fuel consumption mostly around here about 35 is, 40 on a "run". we'll see how it cope with a trip to holland and belgium next week. -
Motability finances - how did this happen? 23 May 2018 (Forum)
We have to wonder how long this has been going on, and why no one spotted it sooner. In the normal run of things, an annual audit would have revealed the apparent squandering of such exorbitant sums of (public!) money, yet I haven't read any acounts of Motability users suffering delays, or cars not being delivered or serviced, so on the face of it, all seemed to be well - until now. -
