  I’m looking for recommendations for a second hand car please My commute is now 45miles on motorway. I also drive similar motorway miles on a weekend for my child’s hobby. I’m looking for a diesel presumably? As frugal as possible, reliability and ideally something with nav/touch screen for mirroring nav. Budget is max 9k- could you state your suggestions please?

  Hi, my husband died and left me with this BMW which is not the type of car I drive.  I want to sell it but am unsure where would be best to advertise. It has a year’s MOT but the paintwork does need some work. Mileage is 52,500. Hope someone can help as I am out of my comfort zone selling this.

  This will probably start an interesting and maybe heated debate lol Sub £2k ish MPV Petrol Ford C-Max vs Vauxhall Zafira vs VW Touran ( or others if people feel strongly enough ) Presuming they had good service history and under say 120k miles which one would you trust to drive 600 miles to Cornwall back if you had the choice  Look forward to the answers..

• Does lumber support matter? 9 Jan 2022 (Forum)
  However, I discovered that most cars don't have it except in expensive top trims. Whether not having it will cause issue or not very difficult to judge in short test drives.  Did anyone change from lumber-support to no-lumber-support? If yes, what was your experience?  I understand body posture is very personal, but still willing to hear your feedback.

  I have been reading for the last week about the concept of installing overhead electric tramlines on the motorway sometime around 2040  Electric HGVs will pick up current as they drive and revert to battery if they overtake or leave the motorway.  So Jeremy Clarkson was not too far out when he suggest covering the Mway with chicken wire like the dodgem fairground.   Sounds OK until there is a crash and something brings the system crashing onto the carriageway.

  Going to test drive a Mazda CX-5. Got Mazda 5 to part exchange, 2013 40,000 miles. Not looking to buy new at least two years old, about 20,000 miles. Is it a good idea not to commit too early, for example I’m looking at other cars.

  From what I can see on YouTube, it's necessary to put the seats back with an exact amount of torque. I can't seem to find this information anywhere. Has anyone done this before? I'm driving a 2013 Verso. Happy to answer any questions! Thanks in advance.

  Probably a long shot. Looking for a used petrol car for a 20yr old driver. As she does some motorway driving she would prefer a 1.4 unless someone can suggest a powerful enough 1.2 ( she has been on our insurance as a named driver on 3 different cars even a used golf gti so she's a very good driver )

  I have a 2007 1.4 16v zetec, everytime I fill her up until she cuts off at the pump and drive her home she says completely full. The next day she is half a gallon gone already. What is it doing that? I can't tell how many mpg if I can't tell how much I'm putting in
• Hyundai i20 - Frozen windscreen on inside of Hyundai i20 13 Feb 2021 (Forum)
  My mother in law drives an '09 plate Hyundai i20 (which she loves). However recently with the cold weather she has had ice forming on the INSIDE of the windscreen. Now, I have not quizzed her about the air-con being on/ off etc, but clearly she shouldn't have to defrost the inside of the windscreen as well.

  I am thinking of buying one as I am rather worried about the the amount of my attention is taken up looking at my speedometer looking for speed cameras etc when driving in an unfamiliar area. There are 3 of these GPS systems on offer now and I rather like the look of this one.
• Grand C-MAX 2015 2.0L diesel - Diesel issues 21 Oct 2020 (Forum)
  Firstly the fuel guage seems unreliable, secondly when putting the nozzle into the tank there is a startling release of pressure, and thirdly there seems to be a noticeable smell of fuel while driving. It runs well enough as far as I can tell, but something seems amiss. Any ideas would be gratefully received, thanks.

  Hello everyone, So i have a Mazda diesel 2.2 that has broken down and i found out that the problem was from the DPF, im wondering as i get it fixed should i just change to a Petrol Car? Or is there a way to be safe and the problem not hapenning again? I was driving mostly in town and country side road on a regular speed, i have an option to go to work by a motorway for a few miles will that help?

  If she changes the insurance for tomorrow (kicks in at 00.01 tomorrow morning) is she still covered to drive the car to collect her new one?  I've tried contacting her insurers but it's all online and it takes 24 hrs for them to reply.

    Also pedestrians beware pavements, shopping malls, public footpaths and just about any where else.   Apparently you need a driving license but I doubt anyone will be checking, also the ES will be restricted to 15.5mph for the law abiding and go as fast as you can for the reckless.  Stay safe in the new free for all that is about to hit!
