  Engine oil going down 1 litre every 2 weeks. No leaking of oil. engine runs perfect. No smoke and emissions, perfect just passed MOT.Turbo has been removed and checked out all ok. Can someone help please

  My grandson has recently purchased a 100,000mile b.m.w 320ci2.2 6 cyl he has to top[ the oil up every 4-500 miles by about a litre He does not thrash it at all,it does not throw out any smoke and runs well.   Ive and 01 ka with the 1.3 endura would it be possible to put the 1.3 in to the fiesta ? I just wanting to put an engine in to the fiesta so the knocking stops!!! Only use it as a run around so if any could help it would be much appreciated !!

  My sons Corsa 1.2 16v T reg has just started to shred its fanbelt. I hope to change it this weekend. it still runs but only has 3 quarters of belt width left :-( 1. is it easy for a reasonable competent dad to do and are special tools req'd 2. what would cause the shredding? wear of fault Cheers this is my first post be gentle

    Should I give it an oil change immediately and move onto fixed servicing intervals, or let it run in for a bit more? We won't be doing many miles over the next few months, as we do the bulk of our mileage in summer.

  Just changed the engine on my ford fiesta 2004 1.4 petrol and I have a spare connector left over and can not find we're it goes it is on the feed that goes to the reverse switch and is about 2 ft long it is a biggish black one that has 2 pins in it the car runs perfect without it being connected any ideas thanks

  The sound remains when the engine runs, and stop first when ingnition is turnd off. Some days ago noise disappered, and so the heating. Today the sound come back, and also the heating in the car.

  A friend is looking at both these cars (s/h about three years old). My inclination is towards the Jazz as another friend has run one for years - it has been 100% reliable and he finds the dealer service excellent. By comparision I feel VW became just another car years ago and neither are especially reliable nor enjoy good dealer service.

  Today when i got home to my amazement there was a puddle on the passengers side of the car it had coolant in it. The car is a 2001 reg and a clean car. Has anyone got any ideas the engine is running perfect, perhaps its time to lay it to rest.

  Is just 2 bolts holding it in place and 1 more connecting the UJ to the steering column aside from the steering rods? Is it worthwhile replacing the pump too as it's run dry of fluid. Replies greatly appreciated or if there's a thread you can point me to that'll be great. Best Regards Midge

  This car occasionally fails to start first time. Engine catches and immediately dies. Occasionally needs 2 or 3 goes, then runs no problem. Does this sound like the immobiliser not reading the key transponder? Had similar symptoms on a Golf (same engine) using a key that was a cheap copy with NO transponder. Of course that key never started it!

  I have recently bought a 96 adventurer and have noticed that on the offside (right) carb the copper pipe running from the top to the bottom of the carb is damaged and I am having trouble starting the bike. I know it is linked to the choke but cannot find a company offering a replacement for this (load showing jets etc).

  I turned off my sat nav whilst engine was off When i tured sat nav back on the radio has lost the restore to new stations. Also after a long run battery reads 12.7 but after 1 hour this is down to 12.2 Ihave checked removing all fuses but cannot find discharge. I gather american cars do this

    All the lights come on then battery light stays on.  I'm putting roof down when engine is running.  The car starts with bump and then starts the following day and thereafter as normal!!  If its battery surely that would stay flat and car wouldn't start next day?

   The coolant is fairly new so don't want to have to renew it again. and I know that by draining off either by removing the bottom hose or rad plug, usually results in the coolant running all over the place picking up dirt. Could I sipon some coolant out of the expansion tank first so that I get level down below the thermostat?
• Vauxhall Vectra C 2001 - problem with engine mis-firing and rev counter 26 Apr 2013 (Forum)
    A recent problem has shown that after driving for approximately one hour, then stopping  (engine switched off)  when re-starting, the engine mis-fires and the rev counter drops to zero.  The engine runs, but sluggishly and the rev counter fails to work. Unless caught on the accelerator at junctions etc it stalls.  ??

  hi my car has died and can't seem to get it to run again! b***** thing. it is a 2002 ford ranger 2.5 diesel. it has an error code of 6241 coming up on a diagnostics computer. i believe this is something to do with the imobiliser ? but no idea really!
