  • Cuba Fly Drive 29 May 2008 (Forum)
English cars were represented with a Ford Zephyr 6, 105E Ford Anglia, Austin Devon and a few Hillmans. You?d see plenty of abandoned and cannibalised wrecks just parked by the road side where the owners had presumably just given up trying to keep them going. A lot of ex-Canadian yellow school buses were in use, but the broken windows, rust perforated bodies and bald tyres scared me.
  • Poor service at Honda dealers 15 Apr 2007 (Forum)
Either it's been done maliciously or more probably the air freshener was taken off to clean the dash, or was knocked off, and then replaced upside down, leaked, someone noticed and put it back the right way up. I drive the car in to the dealers this morning, and I spot the servicing manager in the car park, and I ask him to take a look. He says immediately 'Oh I was pointed this out by the car cleaner before he even began to clean it, he came in and showed it to me and said, xxx this was here before I start'.
  • Ford Transit - Help with independent dealer 21 Dec 2013 (Forum)
One of the fuel injection rods (the number 1) had liquid around the base of it (there's a circle where it had pooled) and on smelling it, it smelt like fuel. I told the dealer and he told me it was fine, there were no leaks - the fuel injector rods are one of the common problems with Transits, it's why I paid particular attention to it. On the walk around, I asked him what the faults were with it, if anything major or minor needed doing to it and he told me no, there was nothing.
  • Cheaper than cycling - Recommended to Merc owner 27 Apr 2013 (Forum)
‘Have you just bought this?’ he says excitedly. ‘What’s it like?’ I tell him it’s fine. Then someone comes up behind and hoots before I can start ranting about central locking. When I park the Sandero on my street, one of my neighbours comes out and starts asking me about it. He says the salesman recommended them when he took his Merc C-class for a service.
  • Cyclist curfew 11 Jan 2013 (Forum)
Two recent incidents brought the whole debate to life. First, in urban south London with road humps and cars parked on either side, I had to follow a cyclist in the dusk. He had no lights. No reflective jacket. No helmet. But he did have a mobile phone attached to his earhole. I couldn’t overtake safely because of oncoming traffic.
