Rare Healey Silverstone for sale at auction 21 Jun 2017 (News)
A rare 1950 Healey Silverstone will be sold at auction in next month. The car, one of only 105 made, is part of the Silverstone Classic sale on 29-30 July. The aluminium-bodied lightweight ‘Clubman Racer’ features a 105bhp Riley 2.5-litre ‘big four’ engine, and is Mille-Miglia eligible. Offered by Silverstone Auctions, the car is expected to sell for between £165,000 and £185,000. -

Royal Lagonda heads to auction 8 Mar 2016 (News)
Finished in a bespoke shade of Edinburgh green matched to grey leather upholstery, the four-seater convertible was one of just 20 Mk1 cars made. Used by Prince Philip as personal transport until 1961, the car will be offered for sale at H&H’s auction at the International War Museum, Duxford. The estimate of £350,000-£450,000 is at least three times what an ordinary Lagonda 3-Litre DHC would be expected to fetch. -

New TVR to launch in 2017 3 Jun 2015 (News)
It is now expected that four new models will be announced over the next decade – with the first set to enter production just two years from now. The newcomer will be powered by a Cosworth-prepared V8, while the look of the car will be the work of an as yet unnamed British design consultancy. Production will be based around Gordon Murray’s innovative iStream manufacturing process, which dramatically simplifies car construction and offers major benefits in chassis rigidity and crash protection. -

Illegal tyre seller receives nine month suspended prison sentence 9 Apr 2015 (News)
A tyre trader who sold dangerous part-worn car tyres has received a nine month suspended prison sentence. He has also been ordered to pay £26,000 in fees and to must complete 150 hours of community service. Luke McKenzie of Moss Tyres, Grantham was found guilty of 16 counts of possessing and supplying dangerous products, along with one count of supplying an incorrectly-sized spare tyre and another of providing false information. -
Toyota unveils ‘urban DIY-inspired’ U2 concept 12 Sep 2014 (News)
Just days after Irish arena rock specialists U2 dropped a surprise album on iTunes for free, Toyota has unveiled a surprise concept car called, to be sure, U2. The Toyota U2 is, claims the Japanese company, "inspired by America’s new urban DIY movement," which is to say it’s a van-based MPV featuring all kinds of flexibility and practicality flourishes. -

Commemorative Jaguar D-type Race at Goodwood Revival 22 Jul 2014 (News)
It went on to win the Le Mans 24 Hour endurance race the following year with Mike Hawthorn and Ivor Bueb driving for Jaguar’s works team. The Scottish Ecurie Ecosse outfit added more Le Mans victories for the D-type in 1956 for Ron Flockhart and Ninian Sanderson, and in 1957 for Flockhart and Bueb. In 1957, five of the top six finishers at Le Mans were D-types; the first four all powered by the 3.4-litre engine and the JD Hamilton car in sixth of Duncan Hamilton and Masten Gregory equipped with a 3.8-litre powerplant. D-types have also raced before at the Goodwood Revival. Most recently, Gary Pearson won the 2006 Sussex Trophy, and touring car legend Anthony Reid won the same race in 2013. Donington Historic Festival to feature anniversary Maserati race 30 Jan 2014 (News)
Running as a double header over two of the Festival’s three days, the Maserati Centenary Trophy is for all types of Maseratis and OSCAs built before 1966. This means that the race will be open to all pre-’66 single-seaters and sports cars, including all pre-War cars and cars powered by Maserati or OSCA engines. The Italian marque’s history in motorsport goes back to 1926 - 12 years after its foundation in 1914 - when Alfieri Maserati took his Tipo 26 to class victory in that year's Targa Florio. -

Lamborghini's 50th birthday celebrated at Cholmondeley 28 May 2013 (News)
Members of the Lamborghini Owners’ Club will also be present at Cholmondeley to display their cherished cars to the attending public. Lamborghini will also showcase its latest models, including the all-new Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster, which has a 6.5-litre V12 engine producing 700bhp that powers the car from 0-to-60mph in less than 3.0 seconds. This is the first time the car will be on public display in the UK.
