  • Ford C-MAX (2003 - 2010) - 06 1.8TDCi - MPG getting worse 26 Nov 2007 (Forum)
It's still in warranty and I'm thinking about taking it to a dealer to get them to look at it, but as it's not actually broken down and the problems are fairly subtle, I don't have much confidence they'll be able to do anything about it. Oh, and it definitely hasn't been misfueled. I'm utterly paranoid about it, and check the pump several times before fuelling. Any ideas?
  • Citroen C1 (2005 - ) - Have you driven one? 1 Jun 2008 (Forum)
Been driving a Citroen C1 today (as a spare car, whilst the Trajet is in dock for suspected misfuelling with biodiesel) and just thought I would share my thoughts. I like the simple interior design, although the painted door panels and wind up windows came as a bit of a shock. I wouldn't mind wind-up so much if the knob was easier to grip, but it's a bit small.
  • Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 03 tdci 130 bhp, starting problems 10 Dec 2007 (Forum)
After a failed start attempt the glow plug would be flashing, i've never seen it flash before, and the car has never lost power. I have had the car from 10k and it now has 35k and FSH. It has never been misfueled in the time i've had it ( 3 years). I filled up about 15 miles before it died, putting in 50 litres. RAC man reckons the fuel pump is knackered. The car occasionally has accelerated to 1500 revs all by itself, when it does this and i dip the clutch it surges and settles to idle but with gear engaged it would surge to 1500 revs again.
  • A new car for my Mother 13 Mar 2009 (Forum)
ve persuaded her against her original idea of changing to an automatic as it has been 35 years since she has driven one but that may come back as we go round dealers. Also because of misfueling and DPFs I?m tending to advise against diesels. I?ve suggested a C-Max or a Golf Plus. She said she really fancied that Volvo from the new adverts which I think she means is the XC60 which is too expensive as is the Kuga and probably not what she wants when she sees or drives one in the flesh.

  • Renault Scenic (2003 - 2009) - Grand Scenic - 1 yr / 16,000 mile report. 21 Mar 2008 (Forum)
The fault tally has been a popped glowplug (complete with a scary "Check injection" message on the dash, two blown headlight bulbs, and a failed electric window regulator just outside of warranty (for which Renault UK picked up the bill). Other than that, it's behaved perfectly. It also suffered a minor misfuel in the hands of SWMBO, although it was just 7 litres of Unleaded, and it wasn't started. A local garage recovered the car and did the tank draining honours for £125. This cannot be held against the car in any way.
