  • Horrendous Economy or lead foot? 29 Jan 2005 (Forum)
I never put any more in and so, obviously, never fill the tank. Because of this, I wouldn't be able to give you the MPG figures but I have tried changing my driving style. At first I tried toning it down I bit. I don't drive like a loon anyway (subjective) but I did drive slower. Still didn't notice that much of a change so I took it even slower keeping it under 3,000 revs, sticking to 70 like glue, aircon off etc... but fortunately I never noticed a difference.

The cameras can check up to 3,000 vehicles an hour. Mr Blunkett said ANPR was "a powerful tool" that brought enormous benefits to the police and to society.
  • Volvo V70 D5 - update 13 Jul 2004 (Forum)
Unfortunately, the S60 (I think a 03 model) still had some of the same problems as my 01 V70. Most noticable was very loud aircon - it wheezed and hissed the whole time and was like driving with a heavy breather in the car. Incredibly annoying. Do Volvo actually drive any of their cars before putting them into production? There are also still resonance points in the rev range through the exhaust although apparently the mounting has changed on new models.
  • Tory party to review speed limits ... 1 Jul 2003 (Forum)
I also beleive that the road tax disc should be abolished and replaced by a supplimental levy on fuel, I beleive this would be more efficient and equitable, so the more you drive the more you pay. Road pricing (another stealth tax) should only be introduced after genuine improvements have been made to roads/rail infrastructure. All road humps should be ripped up and removed, they increase pollution and do not stop postie or white van man from driving slowly!

  • "It couldn't happen to me" 10 Jan 2003 (Forum)
Good thing too, because I had just fallen asleep at the wheel. I knew I was tired, and for that reason had been deliberately driving quite moderately for the whole journey. But I hadn't thought for a second that I was in any danger of actually nodding off, although I do remember thinking that the drive was starting to get a little hypnotic.
  • Sneaky Cameras 23 Jun 2001 (Forum)
If it sounds like this is becoming something of an obsession with me, your right, it is! Watch out, you could be next. If you drive for a living, it don't take long for them points to mount up.
  • Fine 17 Aug 2025 (Forum)
Hi I've been hit with a 2k fine for driving my car whilst SORN. But....even though I will freely admit, I don't know if the tax ran out.  I haven't declared my car SORN. The letter states: "...this vehicle was being used or kept whilst a SORN declaration was in force...'

  • SEAT Leon - Seat - Master Cylinder Extended Warranty Cover 20 Jan 2023 (Forum)
Nb Not sure if that is the problem - clutch pedal has not returned twice today but then works fine. Bit disappointed after 40,000 miles of very careful driving. Thank you
  • any - New car 28 Jan 2021 (Forum)
Gents, I'm currently compiling a short list of cars to replace my Mokka, currently on the list are the new Corsa, in Sri spec and a Suzuki Ignis in sz5 spec with 4 wheel drive, whatever I choose will be new rather than used. Anyone got either car? be interested in your impressions please, there's no rush as I'm not looking to replace the mokka until September.
  • Vauxhall Meriva 59 - Spare Key 11 Nov 2019 (Forum)
I was looking at having just the blade cut with no electronics. Would this set the alarm off every time it was opened? She doesn't need to drive the car, just be able to put stuff in and out.  Thanks
  • Why is my car leaking oil when it’s sitting for a 25 Oct 2019 (Forum)
Could be form the valve cover on the cylinder head, that would be one of the easier jobs, or it could be a crankshaft seal - not so easy. I certainly wouldn't drive it with a low oil level and it sounds as though it needs a change anyway.
  • Singer Vogue - Borg Warner Type 35 2 Oct 2019 (Forum)
I have a problem with the gearbox. The car will run In 1,st gear (low) no problems. But when I drive it runs great until it shifts up to 2nd then it feels like the engine loses power and starts running as though the engine is seezing up. Any thoughts? The fluid is new, car revs great up to second gear change.

You can see this happen whenever you start the car - the lights should do a little 'dance' once key is turned. I'd advice checking the light settings on the infortainment menu system. LED's can be set for driving on the left or right side of the road, perhaps the OP's car has been setup for mainland Europe rather than the UK.
  • any - remote control parking 1 Jun 2018 (Forum)
ocid=spartanntp I really do not see the point of this apart from making people lazy, and being a hackers toy, you cannot use a mobile when driving but you are allowed to use this app from up to 6 metres away
