Mitsubishi Lancer (2008 - ) - New Mitsubishi Lancer - Why poor fuel economy? 18 Sep 2008 (Forum)
At todays fuel prices thats an extra 390 gallons costing £2106, and we all know that will be higher with the speed that diesel fuel prices are increasing. So sadly that is telling me that I am probably going to be sticking to Octavia's (which are great cars .... but don't look like a 2008 Lancer) So what is with the poor (in comparison with VW/Seat/Skoda/Audi) fuel economy? -

Astra diesel question 24 Sep 2006 (Forum)
Would I be right in thinking the earlier 1.7 is a smaller version of the 2.0 DI engine or is it an updated version of the original 1.7 Isuzu diesel engine seen in older models and Vectra? I am looking to buy one and would prefer the non common rail thinking about simplicity and using bio fuels. Thanks -
Zafira diesel - Has the thirst for oil b 31 Mar 2003 (Forum)
There is well documented evidence that some Zafira diesels use more oil than most (see HJ car/car/brkdn + other dedicated sites mentioned therein). GM must surely have the means to address this. Are new ones now free from the problem, or would prospective Zafira purchasers be wise to stick to petrol (or even duo-fuel ) versions? -

Go back to petrol: would you? 3 Apr 2007 (Forum)
(Although I'd miss diesel when I go to France - but that's only once a year.) * It may cost less to service a petrol engine. * A petrol engine may be less likely to fail expensively in later life. * At current fuel prices, the difference in fuel cost between a 31 mpg petrol car and a 43 mpg diesel is about 3.1p, or about £1,600 over 50,000 miles. -
