Licence Revoked in 2006, I found out yesterday 21 Jun 2010 (Forum)
I spoke with the DVLA yesterday afternoon and this morning and was given the same information – My licence was revoked at the end of 2006 and I had been permitted to drive until the end of 2007. I have subsequently been driving since with, allegedly, no valid driving licence. The DVLA said my licence was clear of any endorsements and could not tell me the reason why it was revoked ‘because four years had elapsed’ and they held no more information on the matter, suffice to say they presume it was because I failed to send in my licence at some point in 2006 for an endorsement, a fact I deny totally. -

Are speed ramps killing my fuel economy? 13 Apr 2003 (Forum)
I'll then drive along this dual carraigeway for 5 miles, before pulling off and driving for another mile through very light (I rarely have to stop bar a single set of lights) urban traffic. I repeat this in the evening, and will often pop down the mile long lane in the evening to the shop etc, and back up. -
New Cars - Not enjoyable to drive? 22 Jul 2025 (Forum)
I don’t want to mislead anyone, it’s not a bad car, but it feels just like every other modern car. I remember cars from the late 1990s being fun to drive. That thrill seems to be missing these days. Getting into a car feels for a journey, feels more like a chore than something enjoyable. I’m not sure if this is because of the SUV style, large tyres and if car manufacturers are just making heavier, bulkier vehicles in general. -
Kia Sportage - MHEV Sportage being discontinued? 7 Jul 2025 (Forum)
I went for some test drives with my daughter over the weekend. She wants an SUV to replace an ancient Citroen Berlingo. At the Kia dealership we test drive an MHEV "3" which mostly drove OK, though from my point of view the steering was quite vague and could be wiggled quite a bit in the ahead position before the car stated turning. -
Honda CR-V - Looking at buying a new car - 1st time in 10 years 23 Aug 2023 (Forum)

Audi A4/BMW 3 - Seeking for a new long-term car 7 Aug 2023 (Forum)
Hello, It'll 10 years this January since I've been driving my Ford Fiesta 1.25 MK7. I'm saving up money now, hoping to find a suitable replacement that would last me for another period of 10 years. My max budget is maximum £10k (taking into account Fiesta P/X), and I would look to drive around 7k miles/annum. -
Used Car With High Driving Position <9K 2 Mar 2022 (Forum)
Hi everyone, I currently have a 2017 Nissan Note with good spec that I'm looking to get rid of. The main reason is that I want something with a higher driving position. I used to have a Skoda SUV (family car pre divorce :( ) and quite frankly I was spoilt rotten! I only have the part ex value of my Note which is about £9000 maximum so I know I'm limited to car options in this budget. -

Insurance changes April 30th 26 Apr 2021 (Forum)
Originally introduced in March 2020, the commitments supported policyholders who needed to drive to work during lockdown, but who previously would not have used their own car to do so. Insurers waived any requirements to extend cover for key workers who needed to drive to different locations, volunteers helping their communities by transporting medicines or groceries to support those affected by coronavirus and, people who needed to use their car to drive to different locations for work because of the pandemic. -
VW T Cross - Exporting a family car from NL to the UK 9 Jan 2021 (Forum)
Then I get temporary plates and can drive it on Dutch roads for 14 days. Or I can do this, deregister online from the UK later - but they wont give me this certificate. God knows what the implications of that are. What worries me is whether I can drive it through France and the UK. -
If you're going to test-drive an EV or PHEV.... 16 Feb 2020 (Forum)
They had a BMW 225xe available (most dealers don't), and as I like to start a short-list a year or so in advance I arranged a test-drive - only to find that it wouldn't run on electric power. Battery low, according to the screen. I've generally been lucky with car salespeople in the past: this one was keen and friendly but was new to the job and had no product knowledge of hybrids.
